Bed & Breakfast Ranch Sonoma County
This property has an exotic, even romantic, past. Located near Jack London's Valley of the Moon, this 1,600-acre ranch reaches from the valley floor to the ridge of the Mayacamas Mountains. There are 90 acres of vineyards on the ranch, producing Chardonnay, Cabernet, Zinfandel, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc grapes for one of the Valley's most renowned wineries. There are also olive orchards for the production of Sonoma County Olive Oil.

The ranch's rich history began in 1882 when Mary Ellen "Mammy" Pleasant, who was known as the "western terminus" for the southern Underground Railroad, first settled the land. She was also a legendary madam to San Franciscos elite. It was thought that she moved to Sonoma from San Francisco because of a possible homicide in her upscale brothel where she may have also practiced witchcraft.

Shaded by ancient oaks and surrounded by extensive flower and vegetable gardens, the main ranch house and guest cottage style is reminiscent of the architecture known as plantation style with its stylish verandah and elaborate gingerbread railing. With views overlooking the vineyards, the main house contains five rooms all filled with antiques that give it a rustic, yet cozy, feeling. The private cottage is separate from the main house and offers sweeping vistas and the seclusion of a private garden. The two-story porch that encircles the main house provides private entrances to all rooms and stunning views of Sonoma Valley. All rooms have private baths.
